Legacies: Making the Ram Fam Proud

Once a ram, always a ram

Travis Aguirre

2020 Young Alumni Hall of Fame

Being dedicated to making an impact and difference in his career field, Travis Aguirre saw the magic in a profession in public service. Travis chose to rise to the occasion and became the first person in his family to attend college. Today, he serves as Captain of the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

After receiving his Associate in Fire Science from Victor Valley College, Travis went on to work with the City of Victorville Fire Department. He continued to work closely with Victor Valley College as he taught at the Fire Academy and within the EMT Program. While at San Bernardino County Fire, he was promoted to Engineer to Captain. As a dedicated public servant, he wears his uniform proudly and professionally. It is his character and positive attitude that truly makes a difference in his community.

A part of the Honor Guard, he works to represent his department at ceremonies and funerals to pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. As one of the Vice Presidents of the Fire Union, Local 935, he worked to ensure that working conditions and fair pay were provided for members of the fire department. Travis takes pride in giving back – whether it be through mentoring the youth seeking a career in emergency services, organizing blood drives in Phelan, or partaking in local fundraisers – he works to motivate and inspire those around him.

Travis was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame in 2020 after receiving the Young Alumni Hall of Fame award.

Though he strives to continuously provide care and encouragement for his communities, his ultimate goal lies in becoming the greatest husband and father for his wife and two sons.
