External scholarships are awards offered by organizations not directly affiliated with Victor Valley College.

These may come from community groups, private companies, religious organizations, or other independent sources.

If you receive an external scholarship, you must report it to the VVC Foundation Office. This ensures the award is recorded as anticipated aid on your account and properly coordinated with your overall financial aid package.

There are many ways to find external scholarships, but it takes time to search and apply. Each scholarship has its own requirements and deadlines, so be sure to review application instructions carefully. The more applications you submit, the better your chances of receiving additional funding.

Be Aware of Scholarship Scams: Beware of companies that guarantee or promise scholarships. Do not send money to companies that make generous promises, charge a fee for you to receive aid, request money by claiming you are a finalist or request your credit card or bank account number.
